Forgive Us

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. ‭‭ ~Psalms‬ ‭73‬:‭26‬ Lord God, You provide everything. We grumble about our health, age, finances, work, whatever it may be but yet you have a plan. We have a lot that can and will fail. But we also know you are our portion. We will be with you one day for all of eternity. Lord, forgive our trespasses against you and against others. Our gossip. Our judging. That is not for us but for you. Forgive us for not loving you like you love us. Forgive us for not loving others as you would want. Lord, we look forward to a new year. May it be filled first with your love and grace. May our focus be on you. May everyday be a blessing and be glory to you. Amen.

Take care of the poor

Good morning! Here we are, a day after our celebration of the birth of Jesus. Today you bring forth Proverbs 19:17 - take care of the poor. Poor in materials and poor in spirit. What do we have to offer? We have our time. We have our finances. We have our abundance of things. But most importantly, we have your love to spread. You are in us and we are to give of you freely. It doesn’t cost us anything! Just a loving open heart. Lord, as we press into the new year, give us a heart of giving and blessing the poor in spirit. Show us who needs it. Show us what that looks like. Show us how to serve you by serving others.   Lord, I pray over the camper and those living arrangements during this cold season. Put a blanket of protection and warmth over it. I also ask for safe travels through the snow and weather. Thank you for getting us home safe last night.    [Personal Intercession]   In your name we pray these things, amen.

You give us...

Gracious and loving God, Good morning - while the sun hasn't yet risen, we know it will because that is what you put in motion millions/billions of years ago. You created all of this for your ultimate glory. And what do we have to contribute… it seems nothing as we are mere pinheads in this vast existence of yours. So maybe it was the big bang that was fun for you but, and I can only surmise, it is the relationships you wanted. The hearts of those you created. You gave us free will so we could choose you. We here on earth are so used to manipulating for our needs and wants and yet you give us free will to do whatever we want. I think of the advertisers trying to use psychology or parents forcing their kids to do this or do that. And yet you give us nature. You give us the stars. You give us all we have and that is enough to draw us closer to you. You don't need to manipulate us to see what is front of us… you give us that choice. Thank you.   Lord, thank you for all you have gi...

Confess our Sins

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 Father God, Oh mighty and majestic. Powerful and purposeful. Loving and loyal. Faithful and forgiving. Lord, we come to you on bended knee. We confess that we are not perfect by any means. We confess that we have judged others. We confess that our comparisons should only be when we compare ourselves to you, Jesus - our perfect model. Lord, soften our hearts to others, knowing we all have our struggles and walks and backgrounds that are different. We all bring baggage with us on the trip and Lord, I just ask you help lighten that load. Let us shed most of the baggage. Let us rely on You to help with that we can't yet get rid of. Lord, you know our hearts. Help me to see joy in this season. Whether the joy killer come from excuses of stress, SAD, commercialization and marketing of the season, trying to fit in everything to our schedules, or whatever it may b...

Anticipate Christ's Birth

Good morning Father God, As I listen to the rain on the camper, I think of the life-giving water you are. You wash us. You nourish us. You temper us. You are the living water that sustains us. Through our faith and affirmation through baptism, we are one with you. You have sealed us into your kingdom. All we can give is gratitude. An Hallelujah. We have nothing that you have not already given us. So thank you. From our knees, thank you. From our hearts, thank you. We anxiously anticipate the celebration of Christ’s birth. As we give this season, help us to understand the reason - because you were a gift to us. The ultimate gift of love and sacrifice. Lord, as we go about the day, put on our hearts those people we need to love and forgive. Let us take on your yoke and help us though any pain or anger or resentment or whatever it may be. Give us a heart of love and forgiveness no matter the transgressions. And I pray that reciprocates. Let those we have sinned against forgive us. Mainly...

God, you are...

God, you are sovereign, accessible, faithful, and our one and only savior. God, thank you for… thinking to humble yourself as a child to draw near in the flesh. giving Joseph your guiding words and faith to obey your commands. giving us your Holy Word and the Holy Spirit to understand. drawing near to save us from sin so we might be near to you always. God, would you… draw us to trust you more. behold your eternal truth. know your word. love Christ more.

Season of Celebrating

Father, Here we are in the season of celebrating the coming and birth of Jesus. What an incredible time of reflection and thinking about what Jesus brought to this sinful world. He brought grace and truth. He brought humility and morality. He brought all the fruits of the Holy Spirit. He lived among us as a human and fought our struggles. He lifted others up, healed them, and prayed with and for them. Ultimately, he saw our sins and forgave us. He paid the ultimate price to do that - dying on a cross with the crowds scorning and mocking him. Although he died on that cross for our sins, the ultimate end of the story is that he defeated death and rose again. Lord, we cannot have enough gratitude in our hearts for this gift you have given us. And why do we distort the holiday like we do? We talk more of Santa than Jesus. We stress about presents and where we are going to be and what we are going to do… all without you at the forefront. Dear Jesus, forgive us. Let us have a spirit of Chris...
