Confess our Sins
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Father God,
Oh mighty and majestic. Powerful and purposeful. Loving and loyal. Faithful and forgiving. Lord, we come to you on bended knee. We confess that we are not perfect by any means. We confess that we have judged others. We confess that our comparisons should only be when we compare ourselves to you, Jesus - our perfect model. Lord, soften our hearts to others, knowing we all have our struggles and walks and backgrounds that are different. We all bring baggage with us on the trip and Lord, I just ask you help lighten that load. Let us shed most of the baggage. Let us rely on You to help with that we can't yet get rid of.
Lord, you know our hearts. Help me to see joy in this season. Whether the joy killer come from excuses of stress, SAD, commercialization and marketing of the season, trying to fit in everything to our schedules, or whatever it may be. Help us to see the joy of your coming. Your birth. Your coming to this earth as a vulnerable baby born into poverty. Born to rule the hearts of those who believe. Born to take your flock to God for eternity.
Lord, we lift YOU up today. We love you and thank you. We pray in your name, Amen.
