Love - The Greatest Commandment…
- Love—The greatest commandment, the deepest calling
- Love—Not merely an emotion, but a sacred and holy action.
- Love—To glorify God and serve one another in His name.
- Love—To lay down one’s life as Christ did for us.
Love. Such a simple word, yet the most profound calling. What is true, Godly love? Can I truly receive it—accept it in its fullness? Can I pour it out—extend it unconditionally?
Love that demands complete agreement is not love. It is control. It is manipulation. It is often fueled by fear, not faith. Christ’s love does not coerce; it invites. It does not dominate; it serves. So how do we walk in love, offering grace and forgiveness, while standing firm in God’s truth? How do we establish boundaries that guard our morals and values without hardening our hearts?
“In essentials, unity; in non-essentials, liberty; in all things, charity.”
A beautiful and wise sentiment, yet even this requires discernment. What are the essentials of our faith that bind us together in unity? What are the non-essentials—those areas where we can humbly disagree without division? And in all things, how do we embody Christ’s love, even when we stand firmly opposed?
Lord, teach us to love as You love—to stand unwavering in truth yet overflow with grace. Let us be a reflection of Your perfect love, a light in the darkness, and a testimony to the world of the unity found only in You.
