Following Jesus

Lord Jesus,

Thank You for being the perfect example of love, humility, and faithfulness. Help me to walk in Your footsteps, to love like You, serve with humility, pray with sincerity, and trust God in all things.

Give me a heart that seeks truth, a spirit that pursues peace, and hands that reach out to those in need. Strengthen me to resist temptation, to forgive as You forgive, and to live with gratitude and purpose.

Holy Spirit, guide me daily so that my thoughts, words, and actions reflect Jesus in all I do.

May my life bring glory to You. Amen

Jesus Lived with Humility

Jesus humbled Himself, even though He was God, and served others.

Philippians 2:5-7 – “In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant…”

Abide by putting others before ourselves, serving with a humble heart, and avoiding pride.

Jesus Loved Everyone, Even His Enemies

Jesus taught and demonstrated unconditional love, even for those who opposed Him.

Luke 6:27-28 – “But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”

Abide by choosing to love and forgive others, even when it’s difficult.

Jesus Prayed Constantly

Jesus frequently took time alone to pray and stay connected to the Father.

Luke 5:16 – “But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.”

Abide by making prayer a priority in our daily lives, seeking God’s guidance and strength.

Jesus Had Compassion for the Needy

Jesus cared for the sick, the poor, and those in need.

Matthew 9:36 – “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.”

Abide by showing kindness to those in need, by helping the poor, comforting the hurting, and being generous.

Jesus Obeyed God Completely

Jesus always followed God’s will, even when it led to suffering.

John 6:38 – “For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me.”

Abide by seeking God’s will for our lives and obeying His Word, even when it’s challenging.

Jesus Resisted Temptation

Jesus was tempted by Satan but remained faithful to God.

Matthew 4:1-11 – The story of Jesus being tempted in the wilderness.

Abide by relying on Scripture and prayer to resist temptation and staying faithful to God.

Jesus Shared the Good News

Jesus preached the Kingdom of God and called people to repentance.

Mark 1:15 – “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Abide by sharing our faith with others through words and actions.

Jesus Was Willing to Sacrifice for Others

Jesus laid down His life for us on the cross.

John 15:13 – “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

Abide by living selflessly, putting others’ needs before our own.
