Finding Hope

Finding Hope in Uncertain Times: Day 6 • Devotional And my response: The hardest thing to do is to live like Christ. Live an upside down world. Live to turn the other cheek. Live to take the wrath. Live with love and forgiveness in your heart. Live to seek the poor and lift the fallen. Live to nurture the broken and shine light in darkness. This is when people start to oppose you… I think of Jonah and his anger toward God because he was forgiving toward a wretched community. I think there are a lot of Jonah’s… Christians who would rather see an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth than submit to the will of Jesus and offer forgiveness and love. Lord, help us all move toward grace and mercy through your lens of love and forgiveness. Let us know when to press through and when to walk on. Be at our sides today showing us the example we need to be in the world. Amen

Wedding Day

Lord God, You’ve led us on this journey and we are so blessed and grateful for all you have done and where you have led us. We know you are the master planner and want only good for us. Thank you for Vickie and what she brings to my life. Thank you for our friends and family who have supported us along the way. Thank you for the challenges that led us here for we wouldn’t be who we are without them. Lord bless all those who are coming to the wedding today and allow for safe travels. Let them know you are with them. Send them a sign that Jesus died for them and wants them eternally. Send blessings to all those who are not able to come. Give them a nudge at 4:00 pm that You are doing good work in Vickie and I by uniting us as one with you. Lord, pray this in your name, Amen.

Wedding Eve

God of heaven and earth, You are a great great God. The one and only to worship and praise. You gave us the breath of life and grace through it all. Here we stand before you today as you have prepared us for marriage tomorrow. Help us to keep you at the center of our thoughts and actions today and tomorrow. Help us know we marry to glorify you and your will for our lives. You are the author. You put us together. You knew before we were zygotes that one day would be today and we’d be preparing for a unity in marriage with each other held together by the bonds of Christ. The sun is rising. The air is crisp. The bustle of the day will soon be here and my prayer is that your peace and joy float through the day. Float with us. You deserve all praise and glory and we submit to your will. Your way. Your plan for our lives. Thank you, Lord Jesus. Amen.
