Reveal Yourself
Lord God,
There are many ways you reveal yourself to us. Thank you for each and hopefully as we meditate on you today, we recognize all the ways you reach out to us - to our hearts. We notice the brilliant sunrises and sunsets. We see the trees blowing in the wind. We hear the birds chirping and purrs of our pets. We notice all your creation and revel in your majesty.
We feel the holy spirit move in us at times throughout the day. Guiding us and filling our hearts with his fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Though we don't always follow your prompting of the Holy Spirit, Lord, help us see when we need these fruits. You also provide angels among us. Angels that look and seem like us but are here for a reason. To watch over and protect us. To shake us or lead us on your holy path.
You also give us scripture. The Word. The holy word and instruction. Help us to be in the right book/chapter/verse. Help us to see what you are telling us. Let the NT and stories of Jesus' light permeate our thoughts and hearts. Let the OT be a reminder of your power. Your creation. Your storyline and what it means for the past, present, and future. Reveal to us the power of your word as it comes in the form letters/words/sentences/paragraphs but also in the form of Jesus himself. You are the Word, Jesus.
