Lord God, We praise your name above every name. Above every thing. Above every thought. You are in our heart, Lord. We cry to you in times of need. In times of angst and worry. We cry to you when we need someone to lean on. You are our rock in any storm. Lord, I have studied and done a lot with minimalism and declutter. Taught classes in it and tried to keep "stuff" to a minimum in general. Lord, I know we don't need things. And it seems that events and happenings lately make me think about this more and more. We are not in control of money and things. Our earthly lives are overseen by big government and big business. They "own" our bodies, our livelihoods, and everything except our soul. Our soul isn't for sale. You already paid the price on the cross and while we fret in this world about money and government and business and taxes or whatever it may be, I have freedom know my soul belongs to You. Lord God, There are many ways you reveal yourself to us. Thank you for each and hopefully as we meditate on you today, we recognize all the ways you reach out to us - to our hearts. We notice the brilliant sunrises and sunsets. We see the trees blowing in the wind. We hear the birds chirping and purrs of our pets. We notice all your creation and revel in your majesty. We feel the holy spirit move in us at times throughout the day. Guiding us and filling our hearts with his fruits of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Though we don't always follow your prompting of the Holy Spirit, Lord, help us see when we need these fruits. You also provide angels among us. Angels that look and seem like us but are here for a reason. To watch over and protect us. To shake us or lead us on your holy path. You also give us scripture. The Word.
