Gratitude

Father God, All that we can give you is gratitude. We have nothing else fit for a king. The king. So thank you. Thank you for the memories of Grandpa on this anniversary of his passing three years ago. And to all that he modeled of You. All that he reflected of You. We thank you for his spiritual legacy. We thank you for continuing the ancestry of his lineage with our grand daughter. May your love reflect for generations to come through this lineage. I pray for all fruits that may come through the seeds you have sown. May we water and nurture them to be the beauty in this world. Lord, I also thank you for the many opportunities you place before us. Help me - help us - to be good stewards of not only these things but of the opportunities and impact we may have with all you have given us. You have given each of us a unique set of skills to do your will. Show us what you would have us do with those today. In your ever-loving presence, we pray, Amen.

Gift of Life

God, You are so good and gracious! You give the gift of life. We thank you for this wonderful gift of a grand daughter! She is a beautiful girl that you will guide and protect. Help her parents as they embark on this new adventure. Help them to show her your path and your light. Help them with the ups and downs. Help them with the questions and anxieties that will inevitably come. Help them celebrate with gratitude the joys and love. Lord, you gave our grand daughter to this family so we could be your stewards of this incredible person. Of this incredible life. Help us all to give her the opportunities she needs to do your will and your work. May their family be filled with all the fruits of your Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, gentleness, faithfulness, goodness, and self-control. In your holy name we pray, Amen!

The Story of the Lifesaving Station

On a dangerous sea coast where shipwrecks often occur, there was once a crude little life-saving station. The building was just a hut, and there was only one boat, but the few devoted members kept a constant watch over the sea and with no thought for themselves went out day and night tirelessly searching for the lost. Some of those who were saved, and various others in the surrounding area, wanted to become associated with the station and give of their time and money and effort for the support of its work. New boats were bought and new crews trained. The little lifesaving station grew. Some members of the lifesaving station were unhappy that the building was so crude and poorly equipped. They felt that a more comfortable place should be provided as the first refuge of those saved from the sea. They replaced the emergency cots with beds and put better furniture in the enlarged building. Now the lifesaving station became a popular gathering place for its members, and they decorated it be...

Pocket of Christ's Love

Lord God, Your name is above all. Yahweh. Glory and honor to you. Everything flows from our hearts, Lord. Protect it. Mold it and shape it. Help us to balance the nurturing of our heart, mind, body, and soul. There is much depravity in the world. You know this as it’s been going on since the dawn of time. Help us to be a pocket of Christ’s love to others here on earth, today. Through all the ugly, shine your light. Spread salt. Heal hearts that need healing. Touch the souls that need touching. Let love shine for the one that is face to face with us today. May they see you and your love in and through us. In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, amen.

Life

God, Thank you for giving each one of us life. Thank you for knitting us together in our mother's wombs even before she knew we existed. Thank you for giving us a purpose for every beat of our hearts and every breath we take. It is in you that we live and move and have our being (Acts 17:28) and we praise you for your good and beautiful works. We are not here by accident, and we thank you that this new, budding life is will soon be here. You are a gracious and generous giver of good things, Lord! This new life is in your hands, and we pray that we would be a good steward of this precious creation. [Personal Intercession] In your name we pray, Amen.

Road to Salvation

Lord, I'm a amazed at your creation. At the creation story. I'm amazed at how you have shared this beautiful gift with us and that you let us lord over it with you. I'm sorry for all the things I have done (and still do) that has been harmful to your creation. Forgive me. Lord, instill in me a sense of responsibility to your creation. A sense of leaving it better than it was before I came along. Lord, you have given us all amazing gifts that you want us to use to better humanity. To lift others up and share with them Your gospel message. That you came to earth as a vulnerable baby - not a Zeus with lightening bolts and spears - to save the world, to change the world, to change our hearts. You lived a sin-free life and in three years of adult ministry, shared all you needed to. You were mocked, beaten, and ultimately killed on a cross for this. Scourged and beaten. Forced to wear a crown of thorns. Each whipping was one of our sins. Each cruel word spoken was one of our sin...
