What Matters
Father God,
Help us to focus on what matters today. Help us focus on the things you put before us. Whether that’s in our jobs, the people you place in front of us, the books we are reading, the studies we are going through… whatever it may be, help us to focus our energy to do your will and do it your way. Whatever cup you want us to carry, give us the strength, courage, and discipline to do it in a way that is worthy of you.
Lord, we all have things that we “wish” happened differently but we know you have a purpose and we sometimes just don’t understand. Help us to be okay with not understanding. Not knowing or thinking we have to “have a say” in the outcome. You work in ways that are higher than us and we trust you, Lord.
Help us to forgive those who hurt us. Help us to have mercy and see them in a light that is through misunderstanding and not of evil intent. That we see them in a light that is through Your lens and not the misguided lens of the evil one who likes to insert himself between us. As hard as it is, sometimes, give us peace and patience, love and joy, toward others as we move forward.
Lord, thank you for this day and thank you for the many opportunity you’ll give us to hone our Christian walk today. In your name I pray, Amen.
