Church Leadership
Father God,
I lift up our church leadership to You today and in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. May You pour into them Your wisdom and fill them with the fruits of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). As they lead Your flock, give them the protective staff of the shepherd David (Psalm 23:4). Help them feed the flock when the sheep are hungry and let them drink of the cup when they are thirsty (Matthew 5:6). When one of the sheep goes astray, give them the tenacity to search for the lost one and bring it back to the fold (Luke 15:4-7). Help them care for the health of their sheep, giving them both mental and physical strength (Philippians 4:13). Help them wash their flock white as snow (Psalm 51:7). Help them prepare the sheep for the blessings and inheritance that the flock is so undeserving of (Colossians 1:12).
Lord, help our church leadership look up to the greatest of all shepherds, Jesus Christ (John 10:11-14). It is He who is the sacrificial lamb that died for us and our sins (1 Peter 2:24). Lord, give them a sacrificial heart as the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Give them the humility to do all for your glory and goodness (Matthew 10:24).
We thank You for them and pour blessings upon them as they continue to guide the flock. (Psalm 67:1)
